We all know that bullying, gangs, peer pressure, violent crimes, and even suicide are worrying and ever growing issues facing schools today. It may, however, come as a surprise that the same issues arise among adult groups, and often within the workplace. The result of adult group conflict, although more complex, is equally as stressful and just as dangerous if left unresolved.
The only way forward, and the best way to fight against violent, anti-social behaviour in children and adults is through early and sustained training. Teaching people, at any age, in methods of how to deal with conflict, anger, sadness, rejection, and peer exclusion is key to the process of peace and better understanding. Not doing so can lead to problems dealing with anger and inappropriate behaviour and/or reactions to conflict throughout life, causing lasting difficulties for both victim and perpetrator.
