COMMUNITY MEDIATION
Mediation provides a way for people to talk. It allows the participants in a dispute a forum to explain their perception of the problem: often we find the problem is in fact a misperception of some degree. Talking helps the process of understanding to begin, which in turn will lead to an agreement to find a resolution to the conflict.

Having a neutral, unbiased third party - a mediator - present during this discussion provides helpful guidance whilst providing a safe environment to talk.
Community disputes, or neighourhood conflicts are among the most common of all issues brought before mediators. Complaints may be barking dogs, unminded children, badly kept gardens, rubbish issues, noise or even illegal activity taking place next door.

Ignoring the issues or making endless 'phone calls to the authorities may be of little use, or may even exacerbate the problem.
